The Kunstmuseum Pablo Picasso Münster is Germany's only Picasso museum. It houses the world's most extensive collection of Pablo Picasso's lithographs as well as other Picasso works in various artistic techniques and from different creative periods. Large collections of works by his fellow artists Georges Braque, Marc Chagall, Joan Miró and Henri Matisse are also among the museum's treasures.

In changing exhibitions, the Picasso Museum illuminates the multifaceted work of the Spaniard by placing his graphic work in dialog with painting and sculpture. The museum's exhibitions dedicated to his artistic companions also explore these cross-references. In keeping with the spirit of its namesake, the museum is a house of constant change that attracts visitors with special exhibitions several times a year.

In 2010, the museum was renamed from Graphikmuseum Pablo Picasso Münster to Kunstmuseum Pablo Picasso Münster to mark its 10th anniversary. In spring 2020, the museum on Picasso Square welcomed its 1.5 millionth visitor.
