Kunstraum 34 (K34 for short) is a non-profit art association with rooms in the vaulted cellar of the Filderstraße 34 studio building in Stuttgart Süd. Founded in 1982 by the artists working there at the time, the association has been promoting local and international exhibitions and events in the field of contemporary art and music for over four decades. Due to its commitment to time-based, experimental and interdisciplinary projects with a focus on art and music, the association is an important interface to other institutions in Stuttgart's cultural scene. In addition to changing projects, the association has also been organizing the annual Klangraum Festival for New Music since 1985. The association's program is determined by the honorary members of the art and music advisory board. The members also plan the various events on a voluntary basis and are responsible for the diversity of the association as such. Kunstraum 34 is permanently funded by the Cultural Office of the City of Stuttgart and is part of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft deutscher Kunstvereine (ADKV).
