In the location's words:

The art workshops are an open youth art school where you can advance your own artistic development in various workshops. We are a training ground, laboratory and educational center.

We want to be a place where you can find yourself, meet other people and enrich each other - a place where you can let your mind wander.

Art is the tool, not always the end goal.

In courses, weekend workshops, school projects, cooperations with kindergartens and an open house, we are happy to pass on and convey artistic strategies, methods and, above all, the love of artistic creation.

Curious visitors, people young and old who are interested in art, friends of the house and those who want to become friends are very welcome.

We are supported by the association "Kunstwerkstätten e.V." and are financed by grants from the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and the city of Greifswald as well as by course fees and donations.

The youth art school has been active since 2000 and was recognized by the state in July 2010.

The Greifswald art workshops are part of the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Youth Art School Association. You can find out more about the association's work on the JKV-MV website.
