The history of the Lehmann

The Lehmann Club is the official successor to the legendary Prag in Stuttgart. Although the Lehmann is not located in the same place, two of the founders, managing director Sebastian Simon and booker Raphael Dincsoy, come from there. When the popular party location was demolished in 2009, something new was needed: the Lehmann.

The new location of the "rough cellar hole", according to Sebastian Simon, had to be given a new lease of life. But that took some time - the party crew didn't move with them, and the Lehmann didn't aim for the high-class concept that was commonplace in Prague. Eventually, the core team returned to the old days and celebrated a Prague revival party that brought the club back on the scene.

In the industrial-looking space with its high ceilings, pillars and steel beams, attention to detail is not ignored: The symbol of ecstasy or other industrial mementos such as a large cogwheel find their place here. The team is also constantly busy keeping the Lehmann up to date in terms of space and remodeling it as required.

But they have not only created a house, they have also turned the house into a home.

At home at the Lehmann

Community is very important at the Lehmann. Which is a major part of it: The proximity of the DJs to the crowd - they are right in the middle of it all at the Lehmann. The DJ booth is on the dance floor and the clubbers party around it and with the DJs.

But it's not just the physical proximity that creates a sense of community. The in-house residents don't miss out on the program either. The club relies on its own DJs and they are appreciated: On regular club nights, there are always two residents among the line-up of three DJs.

And then there is the shared love of music, and the owners of Lehmann know that nothing bonds better than music. For all their love and penchant for consistency, they also preach openness and leave their egos behind the changing times, influences and trends.

The Lehmann's claim is: There is a Home for Techno. And this claim doesn't just apply to the music - over time, the Lehmann has played its way into the hearts of many regular customers and a real community has formed.

Every weekend: the series of events at Lehmann

One of its best-known events is the "Vision Ekstase" party. This has been going for five years now and is still run by the DJs David Löhlein and Rove Ranger.

In addition, the "Label Nights" are a permanent fixture, where emphasis is placed on locality and labels such as NewKids Records, Halbwelt and Wohnzimmer bring their music to the Lehmann.

The Lehmann - a creative space for artists

Sebastian Simon acknowledges in an interview with Groove: "As a club these days, you have to offer more than just a system and a bit of sound". No sooner said than done. Today, the Lehmann is not only used as a club, but is also available to artists for various projects. The location is also used as a studio, for various vernissages and as the Körperwerk tattoo studio.
