In the location's words:

Lloydplatz is a public place located directly on the harbor quay in Bremerhaven.

As one of the first "stepping stones" to be realized, Lloydplatz marks the entrance to the harbour area. At the end of Lloydstrasse, it lies at the center of an important visual axis from the city center to the river and the historic lighthouse on the other bank. All materials are made of wood, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere in the harsh maritime climate.

The deck of the Lloydplatz is almost 20 cm above the natural stone carpet. Oaks, hornbeams and wingnut trees grow out of the wooden surface. The furnishings, like all the other furnishings in this project, have been specially developed for the location: The modular design of the "Flow Bench" is both a seating element and a sculpture.

During festivities, the floodlights and effect lamps of a 16 m high lattice mast complement the basic lighting of the square.
