The Museum Ostwall (MO) is the city of Dortmund's museum for 20th and 21st century art. For 60 years it was located "Am Ostwall", today it and its collection are part of the Dortmunder U - Center for Art and Creativity. On levels 4 and 5, regular temporary exhibitions are presented with works from the museum's own collection and permanent loans dedicated to real-life themes. From Expressionist painting and Fluxus works to contemporary video art and photography, the museum presents works by artists who make connections to our everyday lives and reflect on the world we live in through art. Art education programs play an important role here, enabling visitors to become active themselves and try out different creative forms of engaging with art.
