How to get there

Öjendorfer See is located in the Billstedt district and is easily accessible by car and public transport. From Hamburg Central Station, take the U2 to Steinfurther Allee station, followed by a 3-minute walk, or take bus 133 (towards Neuschönningstedt, Haidkrug), bus 233 (towards Mümmelmannsberg) or bus 333 (towards Trittau, Famila) to the Schlangenkoppel stop, from where it is about a 25-minute walk. . From there it is only a few minutes by bus or on foot to the lake. There are plenty of parking spaces around the lake for car drivers.

The northern part of the lake is designated as a bird sanctuary and is not open to recreational use. The two bathing areas are located on the north and south-eastern shores, each with a small sandy beach and an extensive sunbathing lawn. There are numerous leisure facilities around the bathing areas, such as play areas, a mini golf course, barbecue areas, kiosks and snack bars. There is a separate non-swimmer area.
