The Magdeburg Opera House on Universitätsplatz is the central venue of the Magdeburg Theatre for musical theater, ballet and concerts. Built in 1907 as a revue and operetta theater and reopened in 1997 after a fire, it offers a varied program ranging from grand opera and symphony concerts to musicals and literary ballet.
