Reopening on June 4, 2027!

The Pergamon Museum houses the Collection of Classical Antiquities, the Museum of the Ancient Near East and the Museum of Islamic Art. The impressive reconstructions of archaeological building ensembles - Pergamon Altar, Market Gate of Miletus, Ishtar Gate with Processional Way of Babylon, Mshatta Facade - have made the Pergamon Museum famous worldwide and made it a magnet for visitors to the National Museums in Berlin.

Refurbishment

As part of the Museum Island Master Plan, the museum has been renovated in stages since 2013 according to plans by the architectural firm O.M. Ungers. The museum will remain closed until at least 2025 as part of the refurbishment. We ask for your understanding in this regard.

The panorama

In order to be able to offer visitors to Museum Island an attractive experience during the renovation of the Pergamonmuseum, the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation has erected a temporary exhibition building "Pergamonmuseum. The Panorama" directly opposite Museum Island on Kupfergraben and on the railroad line, which opened on November 17, 2018.
