DAS-PERIPHER // ATELIER75

Discovered in 2020 by the Raumpflegekultur association, refurbished and transformed with a lot of love and hard work into a wonderfully spacious and bright workspace, the Lehrstand in Gabelsbergerstraße was initially intended as a coworking space. "das peripher" was supposed to offer a desk and a cozy working atmosphere to anyone who wanted it. Unfortunately, this only worked for a few weeks - then the pandemic hit and heralded a very bad time for coworking spaces.

At the same time, universities had to radically restrict their opening hours, which is why art education student and visual artist Laura Sattelmair set out to find her own studio. She got the perfect tip from Maria Trump: the currently vacant peripher would make a great studio. And she was right! In April 2021, Laura moved into the studio and brought three other artists on board: Von Rudzinski, Dalia Parisi Stix and Mara Weyel. Atelier75 was born!

Since then, a lot has happened: Atelier75 has evolved from a pure workshop into a collective and a cultural hotspot in Augsburg. Vernissages, open studios and joint projects and exhibitions take place here. For example, the studio community was able to participate in the Kunstwerk Open Air and Diversity Day in Augsburg.

Seven Augsburg artists are currently working on the premises.
