In the location's words:

plan.d. sees itself as an exhibition space and forum for artistic exchange.
The aim is to operate a free presentation space next to the commercial gallery landscape to show interesting and
to show interesting and extraordinary art projects.
The focus is on the exchange of ideas with artists in Germany and abroad.

plan.d. was founded in 1999 as a "producer gallery" by master students and other self-taught artists. Since 2001 we operate a modified "artists as gallery owners" concept.

plan.d. organizes exhibitions on a monthly basis in four gallery spaces of 120 square meters, in cooperation with artists from other cities and/or countries. In the past 20 years, more than 270 exhibitions with over 500 artists have been realized.
In addition to small formats, many spatial installations specially conceived for our gallery have been shown. In general, all classical forms of expression, such as painting and sculpture, but also digital, photo, video and performance are represented....

plan.d. artists work out a program on a voluntary basis and organize and supervise the exhibitions. Usually 13 double exhibitions are organized per year. In these exhibitions, two complementary positions or two positions that rub up against each other can be shown.
In addition, we offer young Düsseldorf artists the opportunity for an exhibition project in special exhibitions in our special room in the basement.

Through the contacts established in recent years, we have realized reciprocal exhibition projects.
exhibition projects, for example in Japan, South Korea, Austria, the Netherlands, Denmark and Scandinavia. Thus, the presentation of positions of Düsseldorf artists in the mentioned countries was made possible.

plan.d. is a non-profit association. It is financed mainly by membership fees, the Cultural Office of the City of Düsseldorf, and the plan.d. Circle of Friends. Sponsors are welcome!

As a hub for young abstract to representational art, plan.d. is a permanent fixture in Düsseldorf's exhibition scene.
