Info and history

The Rio was opened in 1995. In 2007, operations at the "Kino am Fluss" had to be discontinued due to renovation work.
In October 2009, after long negotiations with the city of Mülheim, the Rio found a new home in the MedienHaus.
The Rio regularly receives awards for its outstanding annual program.
