The Schauspiel Leipzig under the directorship of Enrico Lübbe stands for an equally diverse and differentiated examination of the present in terms of content and aesthetics.

The Große Bühne is characterized by strong directorial manuscripts in the examination of texts from Ibsen, Shakespeare or Goethe to Elfriede Jelinek or Peter Richter ("89/90"). The venue Diskothek is dedicated exclusively to contemporary drama. The Residenz venue has made a name for itself throughout Europe and internationally as a production site in the performance field.

Schauspiel Leipzig cooperates with numerous institutions in the city and regularly receives invitations to renowned festivals such as the Berlin Theatertreffen, the Mülheim Theatertage or the Biennale di Teatro Venice. The theater is a pioneer in the field of inclusion; there are regular performances with live audio description especially for blind and visually impaired people.
