SOHO Studios

The SOHO Studios are a lively art and culture venue in Vienna's Ottakring district, located in the historic Sandleitenhof at Liebknechtgasse 32. The Sandleitenhof is the largest municipal building in Red Vienna, built between 1924 and 1928. The studios were created by renovating the former cinema and a former electropathology museum in the Sandleitenhof and have been used as a cultural space since summer 2021.

Eleven renovated rooms, including an art laboratory, an open space for events, six workshops and studios for artists and a 190 m² classroom for kunstschule.wien, are spread over a total of around 1,530 square meters. The premises can be rented at affordable rates - for events, seminars, workshops or as rehearsal rooms, for example.

The central aim of the SOHO Studios is to combine art, culture and social interaction: the focus is on dialog with the neighborhood and the integration of the local area. The studios are a project of the art and culture association SOHO in Ottakring, which has been active in the Sandleiten area since 2013 and also organizes the art festival of the same name, which is permanently anchored in the Sandleitenhof through the studios.
