Free of charge and outside! Every year from June to August, the containers on the forecourt of the Dortmund U become the stage for the "Summer at the U". With up to 10,000 visitors each year, the once small and temporary summer festival has become a permanent fixture in Dortmund's urban cultural landscape.

Thanks to the proven "made by many" concept, there is something for pretty much every taste - whether live music from folk & indie to pop & rock to hip-hop, punk and jazz. Whether slam poetry or readings, whether electronic DJ set or record evening.

What makes the program so special is that it is curated jointly by a wide variety of Dortmund's cultural players, which guarantees variety and surprises.

Relaxing in one of the deck chairs under the summer evening sky while music plays and glasses clink - no one has ever been left untouched. Festival feeling in the middle of Dortmund!
