The Göttingen City Museum is one of the oldest city history museums in Lower Saxony. It is located in the last remaining Renaissance noble palace in Göttingen. For more than 130 years, we have been collecting, researching, preserving and presenting the material heritage of the city of Göttingen. Over 150,000 original objects tell stories about the lives of Göttingen residents and the development of our city.

Due to ongoing renovation work, the museum's exhibition space is currently very limited and not barrier-free due to stairs.
