The Stern-Wywiol Gallery was founded in June 2012 by Volkmar Wywiol and is a member of the group of companies of the same name. Our focus is on contemporary sculpture. We show relevant positions that differ greatly in terms of both material and approach: From abstract wooden sculptures to figurative bronze and stone sculptural works. From new positions in junk art, conceptual art and minimal art to political theme artists.
Sculptures fascinate! No other genre of art is so close to us and touches us so directly. In sculpture, man creates a three-dimensional image of the world, always using his own body as a unit of measurement. Even if, since modernism, the possibilities seem endless and the boundaries become blurred: Only sculpture knows that compulsion for formal precision and unconditional mastery of materials, for condensation and the essential, which fascinates and challenges us!
