The Thalia Theater Halle is the city's theater for children and young people. It was founded in 1952 as the "Theater der jungen Garde" and developed into an important laboratory for poetic research into everyday life. Based in Kardinal-Albrecht-Straße until 2012, the Thalia Theater Halle has always sought to engage directly with the city and its inhabitants in temporary, unusual venues. Since January 2009, Thalia Theater Halle has been one of five divisions of Theater, Oper und Orchester GmbH Halle.
