Theater - Concerts - Readings

The Theaterschiff Potsdam has been in existence for over thirty years. It is an independent professional theater that emerged from an amateur theater in a ship that is over one hundred years old. The ship is located on jetties in the deep lake and is part of the international art and culture quarter Schiffbauergasse Potsdam and has a unique selling point as a registered industrial monument and cultural venue.

The year-round program consists of theater and concerts. These are high-quality, innovative artistic offerings by national and international artists that correspond to the core characteristic of the theater ship: contemporary art that deals with current political issues, deals with social issues, but also ensures a lively culture of remembrance with modern, unusual artistic means of expression.

A navigable historical barge with a functioning stage and pub in its belly is not an everyday occurrence. What's more, the upper deck of the ship offers a unique view of the Babelsberg Park World Heritage Site and the Brandenburg Havell landscape.
