For us, the presentation of the diversity of contemporary musical languages and their related arts is a concern that we also support with our educational projects. We have been supporting the Bremerhaven "Schul'COOLTOUR'festival" since 2008.

UNHEARD-OF MUSIC IN UNEXPECTED PLACES ... OR ...?

Back in the mid-1980s, a circle of music enthusiasts organized concerts of young contemporary music in Bremerhaven. In addition to the "alternative" RoterSand cultural center, performance venues were quickly found in galleries, churches, shipbuilding halls and old swimming pools. Unerhört - Verein für Neue Musik e.V. was officially founded in 1991 and has since conceived and organized over 130 concerts and productions.

The ability to think and work in networks is an important characteristic of the work of Unerhört e.V. Concerts and performances are often organized in cooperation with local partners: Kunstverein and galleries as well as the German Maritime Museum and the Alfred Wegener Institute. The search for musical traces does not stop at churches and kitchens. This gives the association the freedom to think of music for new and old spaces, as well as for places and landscapes: unexpected music in unheard-of places. With this concept, the association has gained a regular audience over the years.
