An institution that has become an integral part of cultural life in Gelsenkirchen-Buer!
All organized and implemented by voluntary members of the association!
The "werkstatt" was founded in 1976, at that time still located at the Marientor. Manfred "Many" Szejstecki and Rolf Feddern, along with several others, were the driving forces behind it. The move to the current location in Hagenstraße took place as early as 1980. They worked, exhibited and celebrated.
In 2009, the supporting association was founded, continuing the legacy of the founders and breaking new ground.
In the meantime, the "werkstatt" has become an art and cultural center in which numerous concerts, readings and much more take place in addition to the temporary exhibitions
