In the location's words:

The history of the building at Leo-Trepp-Str. 13 (formerly Wilhelmstraße), former isolation barracks

1914 - The management of the Peter Friedrich Ludwig Hospital commissioned the Red Cross to build a special isolation ward on the grounds of the hospital. Two residential buildings were demolished for this purpose.

1915 - The barracks are completed. It is used to admit patients suffering from infectious diseases such as typhoid fever, scarlet fever, diphtheria and TB.

1922 - The building is taken over by the city of Oldenburg.

Due to the improvement in living conditions, infectious diseases were reduced in the 1920s.

1923 to 1924 - Accommodation for refugees from the Ruhr area (Ruhr crisis)

1926 - Extension of the transverse building (today's main entrance).

From approx. 1924/25 to approx. 1935 - establishment of the so-called Krüppelfürsorge, a rehabilitation facility for children and young people.

Nothing is known about its use between 1935 and 1940.

From 1940 again an isolation ward of the PFL hospital

From 1949, residential home for the hospital

1959 to 1989 bacteriological/serological laboratory of the MTA school

from 1990 presumably vacant due to poor structural condition - demolition had already been discussed. Statement by an employee of the MTA school at the time: "The water was running down the walls".

1992 The building is listed as a historical monument in connection with the planning of a hospital museum in the PFL.

1995 Renovation and conversion into the Theater Laboratorium (until 2009)

9.2.2010 Launch of the music and literature house Wilhelm13 with the organizing partners Literaturhaus Oldenburg, Jazzclub Alluvium, Singers & Players Konzerte, Folk-Initiative (until 2011) and Jazzmusiker-Initiative Oldenburg.
