Yellow Lounge - Classic meets Clubbing Classical music was haunted by its image of being boring and old fashioned. The main audience at classical concerts, predominantly grey haired people in grey suits, confirmed this image: The biggest challenges for “newcomers” into the classical world were: how to dress right, how to behave properly, how to know when to applaud. The idea of introducing classical music into a completely different, typical environment, preferably frequented by people between the ages of 20 to 40, e.g. lounges, clubs and bars, was born out of this dilemma. We have named our concept “Yellow Lounge”. It conveys the idea of relaxing and chilling out, while directly connecting it to Deutsche Grammophon, the best known and most widely respected classical label in the world.
