Since 1993, the zeise cinemas in Hamburg-Ottensen have stood for sophisticated and entertaining arthouse cinema in the unique ambience of a former ship propeller factory. Surrounded by countless bars, cafés and restaurants, the Zeise Hallen are located in the heart of Hamburg's vibrant Ottensen district.

Built in 1869 by Theodor Zeise, ship propellers were manufactured here for more than a hundred years and exported all over the world. Today, the rustic, brick-red industrial hall flair is skillfully combined with modern glass and steel architecture. An environment that gives the zeise cinemas a unique atmosphere. And makes going to the movies an experience right from the start.

The zeise kinos' award-winning program includes sophisticated and entertaining films from Germany, Europe and all over the world. Variety is ensured by three cinemas with a total of 523 seats on two levels. The largest auditorium alone offers space for 367 spectators and is considered one of the most beautiful movie theaters in Germany.

The zeise cinemas have broken new ground with the zeise latenight series. This series regularly hosts cultural events that go beyond the traditional cinema program. These include poetry slams, readings, music specials and film series. In summer, zeise offers an open-air cinema in the inner courtyard of the Altona town hall.
