The ZiBB - Center for Intercultural Education and Encounter Giessen - was opened in 1996 as a socio-cultural center with a diverse range of art, culture and politics. The spectrum includes concerts, readings, theater performances, lectures, cultural evenings, exhibitions, discussion events, storytelling cafés, an international women's café, workshops, courses and much more. The offers serve the exchange, encounter and joint education of people of different cultural, social or ethnic backgrounds, of all ages and genders. To this end, we strive to create a very heterogeneous offering and to make access to it as low-threshold as possible. Our goals include the promotion of peaceful and equal coexistence, democracy and values work, strengthening environmental awareness and sustainability as well as the communication of emancipatory and socially critical content. As a socio-cultural center, we are above all a place for art and culture beyond the mainstream. ZiBB tries to support people in developing their cultural and social potential and to be a source of inspiration for social, artistic and cultural mediation work. The ZiBB is also a platform and cooperation partner for cultural associations and migrant self-organizations and tries to support them in their work.
