15. Afrikanische Filmtage München

Since 2011, the African Film Days Munich have been showing films by directors from African countries and the African diaspora every October in the Gasteig - and since 2021 in the Gasteig HP8. They were created to offer a platform for African cinema in Munich - with the aim of making the diversity of the continent visible beyond clichés.

The main focus is on feature films, as well as documentaries and a few classics of African cinema. All films are shown in their original language with German or English subtitles.

The film festival is organized by the non-profit association Afrikanische Filmtage MUC e.V. in cooperation with Filmstadt München and the Munich City Library.

They are financially supported by the Cultural Department of the City of Munich.

Cooperation partners are DOK.fest München and Filmfest München.
