Our city is getting hotter. On summer days, Munich residents are therefore drawn to places where trees provide shade: the Isar river or the English Garden.

But everyday life often takes place elsewhere - on streets and squares that heat up during the day and hardly cool down at night. These heat islands are increasingly endangering health, the economy and social participation in our city.

As the city of Munich still has no binding, comprehensive measures for consistent heat protection in planning or implementation, the tree decision secures Munich's future. We are campaigning for a comprehensive network of street trees throughout Munich. We are making Munich heat-safe through a citizens' initiative - for all generations.
