With over 200 years of history, the Botanical Garden in Hamburg is one of the oldest university gardens in Germany and one of the oldest public institutions in the city.

The living collection of plants from all over the world shows the great diversity of nature and focuses on individual plants, such as useful and poisonous plants, but also depicts entire vegetation units, such as the prairies of North America or the Alps of Europe.
The Loki-Schmidt-Garden is a window into science and a place of education as well as a place of recreation and encounter for the citizens and guests of the city.
