With over 230 members from all areas of the visual arts, the Bund Bildender Künstlerinnen und Künstler Leipzig e.V. is the largest artists' association in the city of Leipzig and the Leipzig region. The association has been active in accordance with its statutes since 1990.
BBK Leipzig e.V. promotes the visual arts in the city and region of Leipzig through cultural-political commitment, it is committed to cross-generational, social and professionally relevant standards for visual artists, the creation and securing of affordable studio space, project grants, exhibition opportunities, exhibition fees and the preservation of the visual arts heritage.
The unique selling point of the association's activities is the interface between artistic work and social commitment. The association achieves this through events, symposia, exhibitions, further training, analyses, surveys on the working situation of visual artists, studio mediation, cultural education projects and art in public spaces, among other things, and works closely with the relevant authorities, institutions and various sponsors.
BBK Leipzig e.V. organizes exhibitions, workshops, symposia and various other events with Leipzig artists and guests. These take place either in the association's exhibition space, the 4D project location in the Kulturhof Gohlis, or at other locations in the city and the surrounding area. BBK Leipzig e.V. is also involved in cultural education projects and art in public spaces.
