Since 2001, the Office for Peace Culture has acted as the central municipal contact point for peace culture work in Osnabrück. It networks politics, administration and civil society, initiates its own projects and supports civic engagement through advice and funding. With event formats such as the 'Festival of Cultures' or the 'Open Mosque Day', the office promotes intercultural dialog and encounters between people of different origins, religions and world views in a diverse urban society. The office also provides important impetus for raising awareness of discrimination, racism and anti-Semitism - for example as part of the 'International Weeks against Racism' or through projects in the field of remembrance culture. Together with numerous initiatives, associations and institutions, this creates a strong network that actively fills the mission statement of the City of Peace Osnabrück with life.
