Founded in 2015, CHAUSSEE 36 PHOTOGRAPHY is a gallery-based project space dedicated to photographic art. We explore specific themes such as historical and experimental photography as well as the role of women as subjects or authors in photography. Our aim is to explore the social relevance of photography and its place in art historical discourse. In regular exhibitions and publications, and by looking after the De Gambs Collection and the Heinz Hajek-Halke estate, we explore the medium of photography in all its facets.
