Various partners from administration, science, art, nature conservation and citizens' initiatives are jointly implementing the CitySoundscapes project, which deals with the sound of a city. Even though cities are already doing a lot to avoid noise, positive sound elements have so far been given little consideration in planning - even though they represent an important resource for promoting health in urban areas.
Against this background, the project investigates the relationship between urban structures and biodiversity, the resulting soundscapes and their influence on human health. The aim is to find out how urban spaces and their green areas should be designed in order to harmoniously promote biodiversity and well-being with the help of soundscapes.
