Color in all its facets is the focus of the exhibition - not just as a visual phenomenon, but as a complex medium. Color has texture, reflects and generates light, resonates with space and surface. It conveys emotions, changes atmospheres, carries cultural meanings, symbolic messages and historical traditions.
The works of Kirsten Arndt, Rana Begum, Matti Braun, Rupprecht Geiger, Sophie Herz, Erika Hock, Franziska Holstein, Christof John, Shirin Kretschmann, Zora Kreuzer, Sebastian Kuhn and Kai Schiemenz show the complexity and possibilities of color, from colored glass to neon tubes, from liquid paint to sewn fabric. The spatial installations, some of which are site-specific, transform the eight skylight halls of the Kunsthalle Nürnberg and invite visitors to experience the architecture in a new way.
