The musical is a composition by Stefan Daubner, set around the time of the revolution of 1848 and deals with the so-called Polish Trial. At that time, 254 Poles were tried in Berlin for an uprising for Polish freedom in what was then Prussian Poznan and some of them were sentenced to death. The main characters: Ludwik Mieroslawski, the main defendant, and the writer Bettina von Arnim, a supporter of the Poles in Germany.
