Die Schmiere, satirical theater and cabaret since 1950 in Frankfurt am Main.
It has its own permanent ensemble with several of its own productions, plus selected guest performances by other artists, resulting in a varied repertoire.
The rooms in the basement of the Carmelite monastery are quaint and cozy, with sofas in the first two rows and a variety of chairs behind them, the hall currently seats 80 to 90 people.
At the back, there are regular exhibitions and a small permanent art market.
