Open workshops in Berlin showcase vibrant arts and crafts

From April 10 to 12, 2026, Berlin artisans and designers will open their workshops and studios to the public.

Artisans, designers, museums and universities can take part in the annual European Days of Arts and Crafts (ETAK) and show visitors how ideas are created and take shape through craftsmanship.

Parallel to the open workshops, a large arts and crafts market will take place for the first time on April 11, 2026 in the East Side Mall, where artisans can present and sell their pieces.

Artisans who are creatively active in Berlin and would like to be part of ETAK 2026 can now register free of charge at kunsthandwerkstage.de.

There are no limits to the creativity with which you can show interested parties your handicrafts: Interested parties can be taken on a journey through the creation process of a piece: from the first sketches to production and the finished object. Workshops, guided tours of studios and workshops or discussions can also be offered.

Whether goldsmiths, textile design, restoration, musical instrument making or ceramics, the ETAK program reflects the diversity of Berlin's arts and crafts scene.

The Berlin Chamber of Crafts is organizing the European Days of Arts and Crafts (ETAK) for the twelfth time from 10 to 12 April 2026. What was initiated by the French Ministry of Crafts in 2002 has developed into a European movement. Today, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, Latvia, Ireland and Switzerland are among those taking part. In Germany, the ETAK now takes place in numerous federal states. The aim is to raise public awareness of the diversity and importance of arts and crafts and design.
