For three weeks, the Konzerthausorchester Berlin and our city's independent scene will be celebrating beginnings, from baroque to pop: The moment when something new emerges, everything seems possible and long-delayed questions can take shape - whether it's the first note that leads from nothingness to existence or the orchestral sound of a post-migrant society.

BREAKING UP

With Mahler's Fourth, the Konzerthausorchester Berlin and Jonathan Nott open up a paradisiacal space as a "heaven full of violins". Together with the Trickster Orchestra and other independent ensembles, the utopia of a transtraditional symphony orchestra will then be heard.

CHAOS

In their radio play "Vom Unfertigen", students ask why we sometimes find it so damn hard to start. And Berlin singer-songwriters talk about successful beginnings and what makes them special.

CREATION

With its new Marian Vespers "Ex Utero", the Berlin vocal ensemble The Present celebrates female creativity over four centuries. The Konzerthausorchester Berlin, RIAS Kammerchor and Joana Mallwitz conclude the festival with the setting of the Christian faith par excellence - Joseph Haydn's "The Creation".
