In the page's words:

Filmfest Düsseldorf e.V. is one of the largest and best-known short film festivals in Germany and is entirely in the hands of students of media and cultural studies at Heinrich Heine University. Every year since 2003, we have put together a team of around 50 people who work together for 12 months on the Düsseldorf Film Festival, which has established a firm place in the short film landscape in Germany. This is reflected, among other things, in the listing of the AG Kurzfilm. The team is divided into an executive board and five other teams, each of which deals with components so that we can achieve the best possible result.

Every November, we celebrate short film over three days with a competition in which creative filmmakers can present their work to a wide audience and a selected jury of experts. On the first two days of the festival, we roll out the red carpet at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf and transform the largest lecture hall into a movie theater. For the final evening, we traditionally move to a different location. For the first time, the final evening of Filmfest 2024 will take place at the Zakk.

Thanks to our long-standing commitment, Filmfest Düsseldorf enjoys both national and international renown. Since we deliberately avoid genre specifications, we can present a broad and varied program, to which we cordially invite you as a viewer. In addition to the selected films, the film festival days are characterized by a program between the film blocks, whereby in recent years we have had the opportunity to work together with local newcomer musicians and thus offer the audience further entertainment in addition to the films. In addition, catering for the audience is of course important to us and we always try to create the best possible offer.
