At FOFS, you can experience a real festival atmosphere and maybe even get a taste of celebrity life ✨ Because many well-known directors have taken their first steps here. Even Nick Park, the creator of "Shaun the Sheep", has been there. Who knows, maybe you'll soon see a movie in the cinema whose creator presented his/her idea for the first time at FOFS. 😎

1. where does the FOFS Festival take place and how do I get there?

The FOFS takes place at the University of Television and Film (HFF ) in Munich, which serves as the festival center and festival cinema. Further screenings are held at the Theatiner Filmkunst cinema. The HFF is located in the museum quarter at Bernd-Eichinger-Platz 1, opposite the Alte Pinakothek. The best way to get there is by public transport or bicycle.

2 How does a typical film program at FOFS work?

Four to five different short films are shown in each film program. Many directors and team members have traveled from all over the world and are available for a short Q&A after the screening. The films are always presented in their original language with English subtitles to ensure an authentic film experience.

3. can children and young people visit the FOFS?

FOFS films are officially only released for children aged 18 and over. This is because the films have not undergone an FSK check and are therefore automatically rated 18 and over, regardless of the actual content.
