The Fünf Seen Filmfestival (fsff) is one of the most important film festivals in southern Germany and has been taking place every summer since 2007 in the picturesque Fünfseenland region southwest of Munich - around Starnberger See, Ammersee, Wörthsee, Pilsensee and Weßlinger See. The main venues are Starnberg, Gauting, Weßling and Seefeld.

The festival is characterized by a large selection of feature films, documentaries and short films from all over the world, with a focus on arthouse productions and current cinema from Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Central Europe. Over 150 films will be shown on up to 14 screens over a period of around ten days - many of them premieres or previews that have not yet been shown in regular cinemas.

One highlight is the open-air cinema directly on the lake, often with film discussions and prominent guests. The festival includes various competitions and prizes - such as the Five Lakes Film Prize, the Hannelore Elsner Prize for Acting and the Horizonte Film Prize, as well as audience prizes and special awards for new talent, documentaries and short films.

The fsff is characterized by a particularly open, film-loving atmosphere and in-depth discussions between the audience and filmmakers. With over 20,000 visitors and numerous prominent guests every year, it has established itself as a meeting place for cineastes and filmmakers in southern Germany.

The 19th edition of the Five Lakes Film Festival (fsff) is just around the corner and once again offers a great opportunity for an unforgettable film experience on the big screen in all its facets. You can expect an outstanding and high-quality program with the best feature films, documentaries and short films from Germany, Austria and Switzerland with over 100 films on 14 screens.
