The Geschichtskontor in the Kulturhaus Walle researches everyday history and urban development with a focus on the west of Bremen. The focus is on dialog with contemporary witnesses, either in our building or in the "storytelling café". Their photos are preserved in the image archive with over 25,000 historical images, and their memories are recorded in the sound archive with over 200 audio documents. The "Digital Museum of Local History" publishes these finds and expands them with background research. Our extensive text archive, the library with its focus on Bremen's history and our branch office, the harbor archive on Überseeinsel, invite you to research on site.
