For over 50 years, the Düsseldorf Society for German-Chinese Friendship (GDCF) has been providing a vivid and objective picture of China and its people. The GDCF is the go-to source in Düsseldorf for all matters related to China.

The goal of the Düsseldorf German-Chinese Friendship Society (GDCF) e.V. is to promote friendly relations between Germans and Chinese people living in the Düsseldorf area. The association was founded in 1976. The GDCF is not affiliated with any political party or organization. It considers itself ideologically and politically independent and is open to all interested individuals.

Through theeventsandregular meetingsorganized by the GDCF, the association fosters intercultural relations between Chinese and German residents in and around Düsseldorf and supports friendly exchanges between them. Proposed topics and projects are developed at the monthly board meetings. All members—including those outside the board—are generally invited and encouraged to actively participate in the association’s work.

Several times a year, the association’s magazine,the Düsseldorfer Drachenpost (DDP), is published, featuring reports, retrospectives, and information. The Drachenpost archive offers fascinating insights into over 30 years of dedicated association work.

The GDCF Düsseldorf is funded exclusively through membership dues and donations. It is recognized as a nonprofit organization and relies on the support of members and sponsors. All contributions are tax-deductible as donations.
 

The GDCF thrives on the enthusiasm and initiative of its members. We therefore welcome anyone who would like to support the association’s mission throughmembershipand, in this way, make an active contribution to German-Chinese friendship and to (inter)cultural life in Düsseldorf.
