Gitter is a collective of artists and event organizers that has been actively shaping the cultural scene in Essen since 2018.
Originally specializing in techno raves that began secretly in the forest and are now celebrated in local clubs and off-locations, the collective has evolved over the years. The Gitter Raum is a cultural center on the edge of Essen's city center that has provided space for intimate concerts, art exhibitions, readings and diverse encounters in recent years.
Whether rave, concert or exhibition - every Gitter event aims to open up a temporary space for the public in which everyday conventions can give way to fresh ideas and new things can emerge.
