Built as a gift from Sweden after the Second World War, Gotland House was initially used to provide starving German children aged 3 to 6 with so-called Swedish food. The wooden house was also later used for social purposes.
We want to use the building in the spirit of its founder. As a community-oriented educational and meeting place for different generations and population groups that helps to shape a diverse future. We want to build community and be charitable. We primarily target people from the neighborhood - which includes families, single parents, people with and without disabilities, senior citizens and the homeless.
Gotland e.V. signed the leasehold contract with the City of Cologne in December 2024.
We are open on certain days and also host events throughout the year.
