Since 2009, the Harbor Front Literature Festival has brought authors, musicians, and artists from around the world to Hamburg every year, transforming the harbor into a stage for stories and encounters. From September 19 to October 11, 2026, Hamburg will once again become a hub for literature from around the world: Authors will bring texts to the stage that narrate, question, and spark discussion about our present; the finest actors and actresses will bring these texts to life; and the audience is invited to engage with both the texts and one another. For the second time, the festival is under the artistic direction of Joachim Lux.
