Haus Bastian, the Center for Cultural Education of the National Museums in Berlin!
In the immediate vicinity of the World Heritage Site Museum Island, it offers a wide range of opportunities for forward-looking educational and mediation work. Haus Bastian is a place for a wide audience: schoolchildren and students, children and families, young people and adults will not only find an ideal starting point in a central location to explore all 15 collections of the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin, they will also have the opportunity here to follow up, expand and discuss their observations, experiences and questions in a creative way. In addition to major regional and national educational projects that will be implemented here in the future, Haus Bastian offers a forum for discussing current and forward-looking issues in educational work such as social participation, inclusion and political education.
The education center is located in a building designed by David Chipperfield, which was used as a gallery until early 2019, when the Bastian family donated the building to the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation. Since spring 2019, the entire four floors of the building have been transformed into learning, experience and communication spaces.
