The(interest group) IG Jazz is an association of modern and contemporary jazz musicians.

A registered association since 1976.

Our aim is to address as many "jazz" musicians in the region as possible in order to network better and exploit existing potential.

What we do:

We regularly organize concerts at the BIX Jazzclub and the Jazzclub Kiste. IG Jazz has also been organizing the multi-day Stuttgart Jazz Days in autumn since 1979 and the Winter Jazz Festival in February.

We present musicians from Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg and Germany who pursue their own concept and work on the development of the language of contemporary concert jazz music.

IG JAZZ also maintains a project-based orchestra called IG Jazz Orchestra, which is open to all jazz musicians. This orchestra performs concerts in and around Stuttgart with a changing line-up and leadership (or organization) and with a changing focus. We also initiate the Stuttgart Youth Jazz Orchestra and the Jazzbus.

IG Jazz Stuttgart e.V. is supported by the City of Stuttgart, the Baden-Württemberg Jazz Association and the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts.
