With ISO20, we opened a publicly accessible photo lab in Bremen in 2022. Thanks to the Junge Szene / Subkultur funding, we were able to convert a room in the community studio into a public darkroom and offer various formats. On the one hand, artists who work with the medium of analog photography now have a place to work that provides equipment and consumables collectively and sustainably. At the same time, workshops offer newcomers the opportunity to learn how to work with analog photography and how to develop and experiment with film and photographic paper independently and use them artistically. Working together in the darkroom also provides a space for exchanging creative and artistic processes and mutual inspiration. Adjacent to the darkroom, ISO20 also has daylight workstations and an exhibition area. Exhibitions also provide an insight into artistic work in the Bremen area and the darkroom.
