Jazz+

The Jazz+ series has been held at Munich's Seidlvilla on Nikolaiplatz since 1994. The eleven concerts a year, which always take place on the second Tuesday of the month, are an indispensable addition to Munich's jazz scene.

From the very beginning, the series has seen itself as a platform for modern, contemporary jazz. For music that surprises, interests, inspires and excites.

In the early years, the series was mainly a forum for musicians from the local scene. Nowadays, bands from all over Germany and increasingly also from Europe come to play at the Seidlvilla.

Alongside newcomers, internationally established artists present their projects. The curators prove their flair time and again. It is not uncommon for relatively unknown musicians to be heard at the Seidlvilla, only to play on larger stages and festivals a short time later.

Drummer Martin Kolb founded the series and since then has stood for select quality in the choice of acts.

Bands and audiences come not only because of the special ambience of the Art Nouveau villa and the excellent sound in the wood-panelled Zenzl-Mühsam-Saal, but also because of the friendly, informal atmosphere and the enthusiasm of the organizers for their very own cause - for jazz and improvised music.
