The Jazzinitiative für Hamburg e.V. has been active in Hamburg for over 10 years.

Known for its innovative concert series FEEL FREE TO IMPROVISE, which takes place in scene clubs such as FOOLS GARDEN, BRÜCKENSTERN and, for some years now, MATHILDE BAR IN OTTENSEN, it presents young and outstanding musicians from the Hamburg and northern German jazz scene.

Its founder, the well-known Hamburg saxophonist Tadeusz Jakubowski, tirelessly gathers jazz talents and jazz lovers around him to give them the opportunity to present their music and exchange ideas with experienced musicians across generations.

With the Mathilde goes Jazz series, which takes place every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month in a relaxed and cozy atmosphere, the association is currently experiencing a new upswing.

The FEEL FREE TO IMPROVISE series has also found a new home in the Alte Drückerei, where audiences can enjoy international jazz artists on the first Tuesday of every month.
